Introduction

Faculty of Agriculture established in May 2006 aims at providing quality academic training (teaching, research and out-reach) in plant production and plant protection through management practices against ecological and biotic constrains under various agro-climatic conditions.

The faculty offers bachelor’s and master degree in six specialized programs of Agriculture including Agronomy, Horticulture, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Soil Science and Plant Breeding and Genetics. The Faculty has also started doctorate degree program in Agronomy, Entomology and Horticulture. The bachelor students are also offered compulsory internships at in-house research laboratories of LUAWMS and other well-reputed organizations throughout the country. It attracts a large number of students for admission every year. The passed out graduates are serving in various government institutes of Baluchistan.

The Faculty has its own experimental area and access to various experimental forms to conduct problem oriented research at graduate and postgraduate level. The faculty members are also running a number of research projects to solve the agricultural problems and for uplifting the living standards of the agricultural community in the province. The Faculty has earned a reputation for academic and research superiority having more than 10 Ph. D Faculty members who got their degrees from Pakistan, United States of America, Sweden, Canada, New Zealand, China and Malaysia. The faculty of agriculture has grown to become Pakistan’s leading fountain in academics, known for the quality of its teaching, its rising research status and service to province and at national level.

The faculty has numerous class rooms with separate well equipped undergraduate and postgraduate research laboratories. In the field of information technology for facilitation of students recently a computer laboratory is established. The main objectives of the faculty is to produce a graduate and post graduate students with sound knowledge and problem-solving, efficient, environmentally sound skills and technologies.
